That $25 Cast Iron Pan Finally Paid Off After 10 Years
I bought a beat-up Lodge skillet at a garage sale in 2014 for $25. It had rust spots and a chip in the handle, but I figured I could clean it up. Used a wire brush and some vinegar, then seasoned it in the oven a few times. That pan has cooked eggs, steaks, cornbread, and even deep-dish pizza over the years. Last week I dropped it on concrete and it just bounced - no cracks, no nothing. My buddy said I should just buy a new nonstick for $40, but this thing will outlast me. Anyone else got a piece of cookware that just won't quit?
