I thought pocket screws on face frames were a hack until a guy in Dallas showed me his 12 year old kitchen
I always figured pocket screws on face frames were a shortcut for guys who couldn't cut a real mortise and tenon. Then a customer asked me to match a kitchen built in 2012 out in Plano and I got to look at how it held up. The joints were tight as the day they went in, no racking, no gaps at the stiles after a dozen Texas summers. I asked the builder and he said he drills them dry with a Kreg jig and never had a callback in 400 kitchens. Now I'm second guessing a whole lot of what I was taught, anybody else made that flip?
