Just found out a standard base cabinet wastes 6 inches of space behind the drawers
I was tearing apart a 30 inch base cabinet from a 1998 build in Portland and noticed the drawers only went back 18 inches. The dead space behind them was full of sawdust and a mummified mouse. I measure every cabinet I pull now and most are the same. How much dead space do you all plan for when you build your own boxes?

Pull them all the way out, 24 deep boxes fix it.
