Finally figured out why my coax terminations were failing after years
I'd been stripping too much jacket off before crimping and didn't even realize it until a senior tech pointed out the exposed braid on a job last Tuesday. Has anyone else had that 'oh duh' moment with something so basic?
Respectfully, that's a different way to look at it. I've always been told a little extra jacket stripped gives you a better chance to see the braid isn't folded back wrong before you crimp. To each their own, but I don't think it's the stripping that causes the failure there.
