Had a 40 foot drop off a ladder in Sandy Springs because I trusted the homeowner's 'solid' anchor point
Was running a new line to a second floor bedroom last Tuesday in Sandy Springs and the guy points me to a rusty eye hook screwed into a rafter, says it held his kid's swing for 10 years. Halfway up the hook rips out and I caught myself on the gutter, cost me a $22 tripod stabilizer bracket and a bruised shin but saved me from a 40 foot drop onto concrete. Now I keep a 3/8 inch lag bolt and a stud finder in the van for exactly this, what's your go to when a customer swears their anchor is fine?
