Ran 14 drops in a Fresno attic with a $9 fish tape and a shop vac, cut my time in half
Last Thursday I had a two story in Fresno with blown in insulation up top and no way to see where my bit was coming out. I tied a plastic bag to the end of my fish tape and taped the shop vac hose to the other side of the wall cavity, and it sucked the line right to me in about 20 seconds. Did that for all 14 drops and finished the rough in before lunch, which never happens for me on two stories. The bag has to be light or it just grabs insulation, so use a grocery bag, not a trash bag. Anyone else have a trick for cavities packed with blown in, or do you just start punching test holes like I used to?
