Walked through a new subdivision in Tucson and every single house had the same lazy coax run
I was out in Tucson doing a job in a new build subdivision off Houghton and while I was waiting on the homeowner I walked the block just to see how the other builders did their low volt. Every house had the exact same thing going on. The coax and cat were just stapled to the side of the studs along the floor plate, no smurf tube, no conduit, no nothing, and half of them already had a staple pinched clean through the jacket. I counted six homes in a row where the drop came in at the same corner of the garage and then ran diagonal across three stud bays to get to the panel, just the laziest path possible. One guy's line was literally zip tied to a copper pipe running to the water heater. I get it, builders want it fast and cheap, but this stuff is going in the ground for 20 years. What are you all seeing in new builds around your area? Same story or are some builders actually doing it right?
