Why does nobody talk about how many people still use the wrong compression on RG6 fittings?

I've seen at least three jobs this month where someone crimped a fitting meant for solid core onto a braided cable, and the signal drop was obvious once I checked it with my meter.

Okay but is the signal drop actually that bad in a real house? I've seen techs mix them up and the customer still gets all their channels. Maybe @avery_ross19 just has a really good meter. Unless it's a super long run or you're splitting the signal five ways, a lot of times it still works fine. People probably don't talk about it because it often doesn't cause a real problem you can see on the TV.

Yeah, it's a constant headache. I finally bought a separate crimper for each type and color coded the handles with tape. It costs a bit more up front, but it completely stops that mix up on the truck. The right tool for the job just saves so much call back time.

Smart move, honestly.
