Bought a VHS of a show I loved as a kid, turns out I only remembered the good episodes

I snagged a complete season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on eBay for $40 and after three tapes the dialogue was so cheesy I had to check if I was watching a parody, has anyone else revisited an old favorite only to realize it never was that good?

Watching those old episodes back makes you realize the show was never really about quality, it was about being six years old and thinking a guy in a foam suit was the coolest thing alive. You paid $40 for a nostalgia trip and got a reminder that childhood taste is basically a scam. I mean, the dialogue was always cheesy, the fights were always stiff, and the acting was always wooden. The only thing that changed is your patience for it. Honestly, you could've just watched a couple of clips on YouTube and saved yourself the money and the disappointment.
