Can we talk about how USA Network's "Silk Stalkings" actually ran for 8 seasons?

I was looking up old cable ratings on Wikipedia last night and stumbled onto the fact that Silk Stalkings ran from 1991 to 1999, which is way longer than I ever remembered it airing. I always figured it was just a filler show that got cancelled after 2 or 3 years, but now I'm wondering if I just tuned out after the first few seasons. Anyone else remember catching it on late night and thinking it was just background noise?

Ha, right? It was that show you'd put on at 2am because you were too lazy to find the remote. I swear it was the TV equivalent of a free trial you forget to cancel. You just let it run, not really watching, but also not mad it was on. That's a solid 8 year run for a show nobody admits they actually followed.

...and I was just as surprised when I looked it up too. I always had it pegged as that show that came on after the news and I'd leave it on while doing laundry. It must have just been cheap enough to keep making and people like us never bothered to turn it off.
