Applied for disability online vs going in person - huge difference in response time
I used to always go to the local SSA office in Fresno to handle everything face to face. Would wait hours, bring stacks of papers, and still get told I was missing something. Last January I finally tried applying for my SSDI claim completely through the online portal instead. It took me about 45 minutes to fill everything out and upload my medical records from my doctor's office. Got a confirmation email within 3 days which was way faster than the 2 week wait I had in person. The only catch was I had to scan all my documents myself and figure out the file size limits. Has anyone else had better luck with the online system compared to walking into the office?

Did you have any trouble with the file size limits because mine kept rejecting my PDFs?

Used to think file size limits were just a minor inconvenience, but this changed my mind. Had a 12MB PDF with embedded images that kept bouncing back last week. Turns out the limit was 10MB, so I had to compress all the graphics down to 72dpi just to get it through. Still looked okay but lost some detail in the charts. Never paid attention to those limits before, now I always check before attaching anything.
