Bought a $12 pill organizer with a timer on Amazon and it caused more problems than it fixed
I got one of those fancy pill boxes with an alarm for my meds because I kept forgetting my afternoon dose, and it was great for about two weeks. Then the alarm went off during a hearing at the Sacramento county office and the whole room turned around. Cost me $12 plus a lot of embarrassment. My old dollar store box never did that. Has anyone else had a gadget backfire on them like this?
A $12 pill timer almost got me fired from a job site in Rancho Cordova back in 2019. I had it set for my blood pressure meds at 2pm sharp and it started beeping like a smoke alarm while I was up on a ladder running wire for an inspector. The guy looked at me like I was hiding a bomb in my tool belt. I chucked that thing in a drawer that same day and went back to a plain old Monday through Sunday box with no bells or whistles. The problem is those timers do not know when you are in a meeting or a doctor's office or church, they just blast off whenever. You end up training yourself to panic every time your pocket buzzes, which is worse than just forgetting a pill now and then. A cheap box plus setting a phone alarm on vibrate does the same job without the public shame.
