The state disability rep told me to apply online instead of by mail, and I pushed back hard
When I filed for State Disability Insurance in February, a rep at the EDD office in Van Nuys told me mail-in applications were taking 6 to 8 weeks, while online claims moved in about 2 weeks. I did not believe her and assumed the online system would just lose my paperwork, so I mailed it anyway. It took 51 days to get approved, and my coworker who filed the same week online got her first payment in 13 days. Has anyone else had the paper route move faster, or is online just the way to go now?

Honestly 51 days sounds rough, but online still wins in my book.
