Am I the only one who's noticed every pawn shop in town now thinks broken film cameras are gold
Stopped by three shops around Akron last week looking for a parts body for a customer's Pentax K1000 and every single one wanted $75+ for cameras with seized shutters or fungus in the glass. Three years ago these same guys had milk crates of untested bodies marked $10 each and you could dig through them for an hour. Now they all watched some YouTube video about film being back and suddenly a jammed Minolta is a collector's item. I get that demand is up but a body with a dead meter and rotten seals is still a paperweight, not a payday. Anyone else seeing this in their area, or is it just the shops near me?
