Talked to a retired repair guy from Chicago who swore by using lighter fluid on stuck shutters

He said a tiny drop of Ronsonol on the pivot points breaks up 40 years of gunk in like 10 seconds, has anyone else tried this on a worn-out leaf shutter?

My buddy tried that exact Ronsonol trick on a beat-up old Kodak shutter and it worked like magic, freed it up in no time. He swore by it after that.

Yeah "worked like magic" is about right. That stuff cuts through grime better than most fancy cleaners.
