TIL my $35 camp stove boils water faster than the $120 one I bought to replace it
Bought a cheap little single burner at a garage sale in Fresno for $35 about 2 years back, mostly as a backup, and decided to actually time both stoves on a cold morning at Shaver Lake to see if the upgrade was worth it. The cheap one hit a rolling boil in 6 minutes flat while the fancy one with the "windproof" design took almost 9, which honestly made me feel dumb for spending the extra cash. Has anyone else found that the cheap gear just flat out works better than the stuff with all the marketing behind it?
