Unpopular opinion: After three seasons, I'm ditching my inflatable pad.
It always pops on tiny rocks. Looking for a durable foam alternative.

What if you paired it with a thin foam layer? Adds some protection and still packs small. I just can't give up that cushy feel.

I read an article in Outside Magazine that pointed out foam pads last way longer than inflatable ones in rough terrain. It got me thinking about all the times I've patched my inflatable pad on trips. Sure, foam doesn't pack down as small, but you never wake up on the ground. That Z Lite Logan mentioned is a classic for a reason, it just works. I still bring my inflatable for car camping where comfort wins, but for backpacking, foam is the way to go.
