Quiet firing is real, I watched it happen at my old job in Austin

Last spring I had a coworker who got ghosted by our manager for like 3 months. No feedback, no projects, just shuffled to pointless meetings. Then they used his 'lack of results' to push him out. It was so obvious. Has anyone else been through this or had to fight it somehow?
