A maintenance guy at the plant said something that rattled my whole career plan
I was chatting with a 62 year old electrician named Ray during a shutdown at the Owensboro facility last Friday. He told me he's seen three waves of automation replace guys who thought their trade was bulletproof, and he said, "Your first job is training for your third job, not your last one." That hit different because I've been chasing a single certification path for 2 years, thinking it was my golden ticket. It made me wonder if I'm building a skill stack or just digging a deeper hole, has anyone else had a random conversation that forced them to rethink their whole education plan?
