Why does nobody talk about how useless a general studies degree is when you actually job hunt
My cousin Kayla got her general studies degree from a state school in Boise back in 2022 and she is still working retail at a mall kiosk selling phone cases. She thought the piece of paper alone would open doors, but 4 years later she has applied to like 60 jobs and gotten maybe 2 callbacks. Her old advisor swore up and down that general studies was flexible and employers loved it, but nobody ever asks about the actual classes she took. Now she is looking at a 2 year radiology tech program at the community college instead because at least that comes with a license. Did your school ever push a major that sounded safe but turned out to be a dead end for you?
