TIL that applying to 30 jobs online was my whole problem, not my resume
A recruiter named Dana in Columbus talked to me at a job fair last week and told me most online applications never get seen by a human. She said her company got over 400 apps for one opening and the hiring manager only looked at 12. I always thought more apps meant better odds, but she said 5 targeted ones with a real person's name on the cover letter beats 50 blind submissions. Anyone here actually gotten a callback from a cold online application, or is it referrals all the way now?
