A guy on a job site in Tulsa told me to write my cuts on my tape, not my wood
I thought it was silly at first, but after 3 ruined pieces of cedar trim on Tuesday I tried it and saved my layout. Now my tape looks like a grocery list. How do you all keep track of cuts without marking the wood?
Writing cuts on the tape is smart because you can peel it off and restick it when the wood changes. I do the same thing but keep a short code on the tape, like a letter for each piece, so it stays readable even when it gets crowded. Beats hunting for a pencil mark you already sanded off.
