The old timer at the lumber yard told me my saw horses were backwards, and I've been setting up wrong for 11 years
I was loading up some 2x10s at the yard in Macon last month when this older guy watching me stack wood on my truck pointed at my folding horses and just said "your legs are pointing the wrong way, no wonder those things walk on you." I kind of laughed it off at first, but he showed me on his own setup that the splayed legs need to face the load, not away from it, so the weight pushes the feet into the floor instead of sliding them out. Tried it on a deck frame job a few days later and the difference was real, no more chasing the horses across the slab every time I ran a long board through. Funny thing is I never once thought to question how I'd been doing it, just figured the wobble was normal. Anybody else been setting theirs up the same dumb way for years?
