Cut a seam backwards for 4 years until a homeowner caught it
I was doing a bedroom in Maplewood last Tuesday and the owner watches me lay out the second roll, asks why my seam is running toward the window when the pile direction goes the other way. I mean I always just matched the arrows on the backing and never thought about the light hitting the seam. Has anyone else had a basic step like that click way later than it should, or am I the only one?

How did it never come up in four years of someone walking the job? I used to just trust the arrows too, but now I always check which way the light hits the room first.
