Pro tip: power stretchers are worth the cost after my first 3 rooms by hand
I did three bedrooms last spring with just a knee kicker and a lot of cursing, and I figured a power stretcher was just something guys on YouTube show off. A guy named Ray who runs a crew out of Dayton let me borrow his for a hallway job in April, and the carpet laid flat with almost no ridge at the walls. I bought a used one for $260 the next day and I have not touched the kicker since except for closets. Now I'm wondering if I was also wrong about seam irons being overkill for small jobs, so what tool did you put off buying way too long?
