A lender on a Tuesday call asked why I wanted $40k, and it changed my whole approach
I called a lender here in Boise about pulling $40k out of my duplex and he cut me off mid-sentence to ask what the money was for and whether it would pay me back. I had no real answer, just a vague "updates," so I hung up and spent two nights writing out the exact numbers on a kitchen reno that would add about $250 a month in rent. Now I write that answer down before I even dial, and I'm wondering if anyone else got called out like that before their first cash out refi.
