Can we talk about the $3 rotisserie chicken hack that saved my grocery budget?
I was blowing $80 a week on groceries and still eating cereal for dinner, so I tried pulling apart a $5 Costco rotisserie chicken and freezing it in ziplock bags with the bones for stock. I got 6 meals out of one bird, plus 2 quarts of stock from the carcass, which is way better than the $2 cans at the store. Last Tuesday I made chicken fried rice for my roommate and he thought I ordered takeout. The real trick was buying the chicken at 7pm when they mark it down to $3. Has anyone else figured out how many meals they actually get from one of those birds?
