My dad's 40 year old meatloaf recipe got a brutal review from my nephew
My nephew came over last month and told me my meatloaf tasted like a soggy sponge, which stung because that recipe came from my dad and I'd been making it since 1998. He said I was drowning it in ketchup and using too much breadcrumbs, so I cut the crumbs by half and started toasting them before mixing them in. Now it actually holds together without being dense, but I'm wondering if anyone else had to let go of a family recipe to make it better?
