Picked up a tip from an old cook at the diner about stretching ground beef

I was grabbing coffee at Lou's Diner on Route 9 last week and overheard their cook mention mixing half a cup of cooked lentils into every pound of ground beef. Tried it myself with a batch of tacos, and honestly couldn't tell the difference, plus it stretched the meat to feed two extra people. Has anyone else tried this with other meats like ground turkey or sausage?

Respectfully, I gotta push back here. Lentils change the texture a LOT in my experience, and I can ALWAYS tell when someone's stretching meat that way.

Yeah @andrewh43 I can't tell lentils from meat but I'm also the guy who forgot to put coffee grounds in the machine this morning.
