Showerthought: a box of pasta costs less now than it did in 1998, and I found that in a library book
I was flipping through an old grocery price book at the Cleveland library last week and the page from 1998 showed spaghetti at $1.29 a box. Same store brand is 98 cents today, and I just stood there doing the math in my head. My mom used to stretch one box with a can of tomatoes and call it Sunday dinner for four of us. Guess that's why I still make pasta twice a week even though money isn't as tight now. Anybody else notice that some of their cheapest childhood meals still hold up better than the fancy stuff?
