Does it ever surprise you how the best deals always seem to show up when people stop chasing the fancy stuff? I see it everywhere, not just houses. People pay top dollar for new things that fall apart in a year, while the old solid stuff just keeps going if you give it a chance. A furnace that fires up on the first try after sitting there for over a hundred years is its own kind of proof. There is something to be said for things that were built to last instead of built to sell.
