A sweeper in Burlington told me to skip the camera and I think he's off his rocker
Watched him run a job on a 1920s brick flue off Church Street with nothing but a mirror and a flashlight, and while his brush work was solid, telling new guys to save the $300 and skip a camera means they'll miss the cracked liner two feet up that I found with mine the very next morning, so am I wrong for thinking a $300 tool pays for itself the first time it catches one bad tile?
Used to be in the skip the camera camp honestly. Figured a mirror and a good eye had worked for old timers for decades, so why spend the money. Then I watched a guy I trusted miss a hairline crack right at the base that showed up as a wet spot two weeks later. That $300 looks real cheap next to tearing out a wall or worse, a house fire. The camera just sees stuff our necks and flashlights can't, plain and simple.
