Bought a $350 chimney camera, couldve just used my phone and a mirror

Last month I got tired of guessing cracks in the flue, so I dropped cash on one of those fancy inspection cameras. Hooked it up, ran it down the stack, and the picture was worse than my flip phone from 2008. Turns out my simple phone on a selfie stick with the flashlight on gave me a clearer look at the liner damage. The camera sits in my truck now, mostly as a paperweight. Anyone else dumped money on a tool that a $10 mirror trick couldve handled?
