Finally figured out why my brush was binding on those old 8x12 flues
Tbh, a retired sweep at the trade show in Harrisburg last month pointed out I was using a 10-inch brush on a slightly oval tile liner. Switched to an 8-inch poly brush and it glides right through now. Anyone else run into that with pre-war brick chimneys?

Wow, so the oval shape was the real culprit, not just the brush size?

Ever notice how we blame the obvious thing first? I mean, I do that all the time, like thinking my phone is dead when it's just the charger being loose.

Yeah that charger thing is so real. I do the same with my internet going out, I'll restart the router three times before I even check if the cable got bumped. It's like our brains just pick the easiest target to get mad at first.
