Why I stopped using round poly brushes on square flues after a job in Gary
Everyone in my local sweep group swears by round poly brushes for everything, but I tried one on a square clay flue last month and it kept riding up one corner and missing the other three. I switched back to a flat wire brush with a square head and got the whole thing clean in half the time, maybe 20 minutes instead of 45. Your mileage may vary depending on liner type, but for old brick and clay I'm not going back to round. Has anyone else had a brush that just wouldn't hit the corners no matter what you did?
