A guy at the Boulder farmers market asked me one question about my reusable bags and it wrecked me
I started hauling canvas totes to King Soopers every week and felt pretty good about it, until a vendor at the Boulder farmers market last Saturday asked how many times I actually reuse them before they wear out. I did the math and it was like 40 trips, which sounds fine until you factor in the water and energy to make them. Now I just keep 4 bags and use them until they literally fall apart, and I stopped buying new ones every time I forget them at home. Anyone else ever run the numbers on their reusable stuff and get humbled?
Curious how many bags were you buying before you made the switch and where were they ending up, just piling up in a closet somewhere? The forgetting them at home thing is what gets most people, so do you just suck it up and carry stuff loose now?
