Rant: my block in Louisville went from 2 street trees to 14 in 5 years and the shade difference on my porch is wild
Five summers ago our block had almost no shade, and last month I sat outside at 3pm without squinting. The city planted 12 more trees through a grant the neighborhood group applied for back in 2021, plus a few of us planted our own in the parkway strip. If your block still looks like a parking lot, has anyone here actually gotten one of those grants approved, and how long did it take?
