A guy on YouTube told me to learn C# first and I think that advice is trash for beginners
Last Tuesday I was in the break room at work and this guy I barely know was watching a video where someone said new coders should skip Python and learn C# right away to "build good habits." I tried that exact path back in January. After 6 weeks I could barely make a console window print a name, and I quit for a month because it felt like homework. Then I switched to Python and wrote a tiny program that renames my files in about 20 minutes. Beginners don't need a hard language to look serious, they need a win in the first week so they don't quit. What did you start with, and did it make you want to keep going or throw your laptop out the window?
