Wait, I just don't see it that way. The main point of a tutorial is to teach the coding concept itself in the clearest way possible. Forcing every example to be about saving the planet might actually make the lesson harder to follow. Should we really twist a lesson on basic loops or databases just to fit a green theme? I'd rather learn the solid skill first, then apply it anywhere I want later.

Okay but the funny thing is nobody's asking for every basic print statement to be about melting icebergs. It's more like... why is the tenth "shopping cart app" example more clear than one quick example showing how a loop could track energy use? The bar is on the floor here.

My intro to CS class used a weather data set for loops. It showed how code can solve real problems, which kept me hooked. More tutorials should mix in stuff like that to make coding feel useful.
