Hit 500 cups logged in my coffee journal, never expected the habit to stick
So I started tracking every cup I brew back in January, mostly to justify buying that fancy grinder. Today I hit 500 cups exactly. That's like 4 months of daily doubles plus some weekend extras. The wild part isnt the number itself, its that I can look back and see patterns. Like I drink way more pour overs on rainy days, and my worst batches all happened when I was rushing before work. Never thought I'd be someone who keeps a coffee diary, but here we are. Has anyone else logged their brews long enough to notice weird trends like that?
The "worst batches all happened when I was rushing before work" thing is so real, I started writing one word next to each brew in my log, like "rushed" or "calm" or "distracted", and my bad cups line up almost every time I was on a time crunch. Worth adding a note column if you haven't, the patterns jump out way faster than just the numbers. I also found my grinder setting drifted a click or two as the burrs broke in, so some of those early "bad" batches were really just the grinder changing on me. Take that with a grain of salt since every grinder is different, but keep logging and you'll spot it.
