Last week I tried pouring my drip coffee through a paper filter twice

I was getting tired of the oily film on top of my morning brew from my French press, so I ran it through a cheap Melitta cone filter as a second pass. The coffee came out crystal clear but also tasted flat, like all the body got stripped out. Anybody else ran into this where a cleaner cup just loses all the flavor?

Switched to a metal mesh filter instead of paper. Lets the oils through but catches the grit, so you get clean coffee with some body left.

Did you find it made a BIG difference in the flavor? I switched to a mesh filter a few months back and now I can't go back to paper, the coffee just tastes richer to me.
