Warned my cousin about buying pre-ground beans at the supermarket, he didn't listen and now his $400 machine makes flat coffee
Six months ago I switched to grinding fresh every morning with a $40 hand grinder. My cousin bought a nice espresso setup on sale and kept using those big tubs of pre-ground stuff from the store. The difference is honestly hard to believe when you taste them side by side. Whole beans keep their oils, ground coffee goes stale in days and the flavor just dies. He came over last Sunday, tried mine, and now he wants to know if a hand grinder is really enough or if he needs to spend more on an electric one. Has anyone here gone from a cheap hand grinder to an electric and actually noticed a jump in the cup?
