A guy at a Pittsburgh city council meeting called my data on housing 'made up' and I had 2 minutes to respond
Last Tuesday I went to a public comment session in Pittsburgh about a zoning change, and I brought a one page sheet with 5 years of permit numbers I pulled from the county website. A man in the back row stood up and said my numbers were 'made up,' which caught me off guard since I had the printouts right there. Instead of getting loud I just read the exact web address and the date I downloaded each file, and asked him to check it on his phone while I kept talking. He went quiet and later a council member asked me for a copy. Has anyone else had to defend their facts in a public meeting, and what did you bring that actually helped?
