Bought a $70 "smart" thermostat to settle a debate with my brother, it lost to a $12 rotary dial
My brother swore my old dial thermostat was costing me money so I got one of those app ones on sale last October. Took me two hours to wire it into my 1950s furnace and then the app kept dropping my wifi in the basement. Right now it's 61 degrees in my kitchen and the app says the indoor temp is "comfortable," so I went to Menards and put the old dial back on for $12. Turns out the house heats fine and my brother just likes arguing about tech. Has anyone actually got one of these to hold a decent temp or is my furnace just too old for it?
