PSA: I tried the 3 day wait rule for online arguments and it worked on me
Tried waiting 3 days before replying to a city council thread on Nextdoor last month, and by day 2 I honestly didn't care anymore. Cost me nothing and kept my Saturday free. Anyone else got a cooling off trick that actually works or is it just me getting old?
Ha, that's just how the brain works once you step away. I've noticed the same thing with texts from my sister in law, if I sit on a snarky reply overnight it sounds insane by morning and I just delete it. Even with stuff like bad reviews or a rude comment in a group chat, the anger has a shelf life of like a day and then it's gone. Seems like half of all internet fights would just dry up if people waited a bit. We're not getting old, we're getting smart about where we spend our energy.
