inMy line snapped on a big chimney job last Thursday
That "spare roll in the truck" is a lifesaver, I do the same. For high work like that, I switched to braided mason line a while back. The stuff with the polyester core is way stronger than the twisted kind. It costs a bit more but it doesn't snap on you out of nowhere. I still check it for nicks all the time though, no line is perfect.

inMy old teacher was right about letting a piece cool in the kiln for a full 24 hours
Yeah, that "no shortcuts" rule is a tough teacher. I once pulled a mug early and it sounded like popcorn when it cooled.

inCan we talk about researching a theory versus just watching a documentary about it?
Honestly @lee_martinez97, my "research" is mostly just watching stuff and then pretending I know things.

inSpent $1800 on a hydraulic hoof trimming table last spring. It's the best money I've ever wasted.
My uncle runs a small farm and he has that EXACT model. He only uses it for his two oldest, calmest Percherons. Says it's not worth the fight with the younger ones.
