The 30 year old fuel pump on my 1966 Mustang quit 2 miles from the Charlotte show
Drove 200 miles to the Carolina Collector Auto Fest on Saturday and the original fuel pump finally gave out on Independence Blvd, right as I was pulling into the lot. I had a spare in the trunk but no tools, so a guy with a green 1970 Chevelle lent me a wrench and we swapped it in about 40 minutes. The old diaphragm was cracked and full of varnish from sitting too long before I bought the car back in 2019. Now I keep a full tool roll in every old car I own, and I want to know who else has had a part let go right at the gates of a show.
