Finally filled my first longbox, and it's a weird feeling

I was sorting my collection last night (a mess of floppies and a few trades) and I actually filled an entire longbox for the first time. The count is 300 books exactly, which kind of blew my mind. I started picking up singles again about two years ago after a long break, just grabbing stuff I liked from the local shop's discount bins. I never really kept track, you know? It was just a fun thing to do on a Saturday. Seeing them all packed in there, from that first random issue of 'The Flash' to last week's 'Daredevil', it hit me that this is a real collection now. It's not valuable or anything, but it's mine. It's a physical record of what I've been into. Has anyone else hit that first full box and felt a mix of pride and 'oh no, where do I put the next one?'

Yeah, that "physical record of what I've been into" part is so true. It's a cool feeling when you see a whole box filled with stories you chose. And I totally get the panic about where the next 300 go, my closet is already a disaster.

My friend turned a whole wall into shelves just for his collection. It actually looks pretty good and freed up a ton of floor space. Makes the boxes feel like a display instead of just clutter.

That "physical record" idea really got me. It's exactly right. My boxes are like a map of my trips to the shop over the years. I felt that same pride and panic, just like @shane_wilson mentioned. The next question is always about the space. Do you find yourself looking at your full box and already planning what kind of stories you want to fill the next one with, or does it just happen on its own?
