Our walk-in cooler compressor died at 4pm on a Friday during a 200 cover wedding rush
Walked in around 4pm last Friday to grab garnish and it was already 58 degrees inside the box. The compressor on our 8 year old unit just quit, no warning, right in the middle of a 200 cover wedding we had booked for Saturday. I called three refrigeration guys in the area and the only one who picked up said he could be there by 6am Saturday but it would cost me $1,400 just for the emergency call. Ended up throwing everything into the two reach-ins we had plus borrowed a chest freezer from the bar next door, and somehow we pulled it off. Anyone got a backup plan that actually works when your main cooler goes down mid-service?
