The quietest thing in my kitchen now is the dishwasher

Our old Hobart undercounter unit sounded like a jet engine taking off for the full 90-second cycle. We put up with it for two years because it still cleaned. Last week, we finally swapped it for a new model with a different pump design. The difference is crazy. It's just a low hum now, and you can actually hear the radio over it. Anyone else find a piece of gear that got way quieter with a newer version?

Ever try to find a used one, @josephc59? They pop up sometimes and still run forever.

Disagree completely. Used ones are a total gamble. You never know what hidden wear they have. That old Hobart sound @josephc59 misses often means it's on its last legs. I'd rather pay more for a new machine with a real warranty.
